“I love my mother to death, but she lied to me”
Those are words from Actor/Director Tyler Perry after finding out what he always felt about his alleged “father’ … Emmitt Perry, Sr. is NOT his biological father.
Tyler Perry let it be well known that the late Emmitt Perry Sr., who was married to his mother, had a bad temper and was physically abusive against him. According to Tyler, Emmitt would abuse him so much as a child, that he would black out. He recalls one specific time when Emmitt took a vacuum cleaner cord and whipped him so hard thatl his skin came off.
After Tyler Perry’s mom passed away in 2009, Perry took a DNA test with his brother to determine if they were full siblings and discovered they were in fact NOT full siblings. The shocking news then prompted him to take a DNA test with his father which confirmed that the two were not actually related.
Tyler Perry is now trying to find his real dad. Both his mother and Emmitt Perry Sr. have passed away. We can imagine all the thoughts running through his head… does this mean he’s gonna change his last name?

It was probably better for him not to know, she may have be molested. Who is to say? Sadly, either way Tyler did not win the father contest.

He should have asked his Mother when she was alive…since he had this deep feeling about his father. That is probably why he treated Tyler so poorly. I feel for you Tyler. However, you are not the first and unfortunately, you will not be the last. All parents most do better by their children.
