The name is Jay Redd The Ox and I’m from Silver Spring, Maryland.

How did you break into the music industry?
Haven’t really broken into the industry yet

Aggressive

Do you write your own songs? If so, what are your songs about and where do you draw your inspiration?
Yes I do write my own songs, I get inspired form my life experiences and my environment.

What project are you currently promoting and is it available for purchase?
My recent project called “Runic Thoughts” can be downloaded for free on Datpiff.com

Are you looking for an independent label deal or a major label deal? Also, what are your long term goals in the entertainment industry?
I can see myself starting off with an indie label to get the buzz going but for the long term I see myself with a major label. One of my goals is to make it big and stay true to myself keeping my music real.

How would you define the word “success”?
In terms of music I’d have to be making a living off my music for me to consider myself successful.

What is your biggest career embarrassment?
To be honest I haven’t really had any embarrassing moments, it’s hard for me to get embarrassed.

Most memorable moment in creating one of your records?
It was when I recorded a project out in Denmark. There wasn’t really any specific tracks, just the general journey of creating the project was very memorable because of the musical chemistry shared between me, the producers, and other indi artists.

Who has been the most influential person in your music career?
DMX!

Who is your celeb look-alike?
I don’t think I look like anyone else but I’ve been told I sound like Chamillionaire at times.

what was your first job?
Working in the kitchen of a Jamaican restaurant “Mama B’s”

What is your worst Fear?
I don’t really have any, I’m giving it my all and whatever happens…happens.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Materials…clothes…shoes…jewelry

Any advice or lessons learned in the music industry that you would like to share with other indie artists?
To all my rappers, singers, actors, producers or whatever you want to be in life; its HARD WORK that brings success that will last…nothing else. So what I suggest is that you surpass your expectations and go the extra mile, out work your competitors.
