On the first episode of Hard Knocks that aired a few days ago Chad Ochocinco joked to teammates, “I promise I’m getting arrested while I’m off.” (See below)
Well Ochocinco spoke it into existence because Saturday night he was arrested for a Misdemeanor Domestic Battery on his new wife Evelyn Lozada after a heated argument in the car.
According to an arrest affidavit, Evelyn said she was taking groceries into their home when she found a receipt for a box of condoms in the car’s trunk. When Evelyn got back in the car they began talking about the receipt and their marriage. That’s when Ochocinco got mad and head-butted his wife, the report says.
Evelyn then ran to a neighbor’s house and called the police. A police officer reported he saw a 3-inch cut on Lozada’s forehead, according to the affidavit. On the scene, Evelyn was treated and transported to the hospital.
Although Chad did not have any visible marks or bruises he told police that his wife head-butted him but admitted the argument was over the receipt.
Today, Miami Dolphins receiver Chad Ocho Cinco has been released from a Florida jail on $2,500 bond.
If convicted, the worse case scenario Ochocinco could get is a year in jail and a $1,000 fine, though he could also receive community service, probation or anger management classes.
Chad has always been seen as more of a prankster, funny and even entertaining guy who knew he had this anger management side too. Unfortunately, Chad’s bad behavior could also cost him his job…. However the Miami Dolphins reportedly have not come to a decision whether or not to keep him yet.
