The 2012 London Olympics Opening Ceremony will go down as  one of the most memorable in history! Much credit is due to filmmaker Danny Boyle,  who organized the Ceremony with captivating fireworks and special guest appearances made to remember by Rowan Atkinson as Mr. Bean, Daniel Craig (James Bond) and his newest Bond Girl, Queen Elizabeth II.

Can you actually imagine your 86 year-old grandma parachuting?! Boyle surely did, he directed a film that looked as though the monarch parachuted with James Bond into the Olympic Stadium , however the Queen later revealed the joke by walking down the steps in the stadium with hubby Prince Phillip….Fake or not, she is now my top bond girl!

Boyle did an awesome job depicting both the Olympics and the era of the Industrial Revolution. Men climbed up huge chimneys that emerged from the center of the field while 5 Olympic golden rings rose above the chimneys. I guess all of this is possible when you have a $40 million dollar budget!

Capping off the ceremony, legendary Beatle, Paul mc Cartney performed the Beatles classic, “The End” and the crowd favorite “Hey Jude”. The 70 year-old lit up the entire stadium with athletes from every country singing along to every word. To all of you wondering, he’s still got it!

Take a look at some of the breathtaking photos and videos from the Olympic Stadium below! What was your favorite moment?

Stay tuned for more updates from the 2012 London Olympics…
