Yep! Ya boy Jay-Z might have made the Yankee hat a popular thing to wear but now he is in the business of making a Yankee player popular!
Robinson Cano, the Yankees best arguably the games second baseman left veteran agent, Scott Boras to sign with Jay-Z. Roc Nation will be representing athletes in a partnership with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) that will be called Roc Nation Sports, and Cano is their first client.
WOW! That’s huge, way to go Jigga man…
Its no doubt in my mind that Cano signed with Jay-Z to blow up his personal brand. Messing around with Jay, Cano will probably end up getting a restaurant deal, clothing line and commercials!
ESPN journalist Darren Rovell broke the news via Twitter:
“BREAKING: Jay Z To Open Sports Representation Agency, Roc Nation Sports. 1st client is Robinson Cano,” he tweeted. “Yes, Jay Z, in order to rep NBA players, must get rid of his Nets share, but he’s open to doing that.”
