Janet Jackson may have made headlines when she secretly married billionaire tycoon, Wissam Al Mana in a private ceremony in 2012 BUT now Janet is making headlines about her own money.
Thanks to her mega-successful albums, tours and acting roles,…..The POP icon and R&B superstar has now reached BILLIONAIRE Status herself!
On the music side, Variety reports the singer has raked in $260 million in album sales thanks to the success of “Control,” “Janet” and “Rhythm Nation 1814,”she made over $500 million on her sold-out world tours and related tour sponsorships, and she earned a further $81 million from music and book publishing fees.
As for actiing, Jackson has made over $300 million from her big-screen roles in “The Nutty Professor II: The Klumps,” “Poetic Justice” and “For Colored Girls.”
Dang!! Looking at those numbers, Janet makes us want to get in the acting game, seriously! For those of you who fretted that Janet wouldn’t make anymore music due to her converting to Islam, we have good news for ya below:
In an interview with Billboard last week, Jackson revealed she’s working on a new album. “I am working on a new project now. We are creating the concept and initial thoughts on the music,” she said.
Ya see…..looks like Janet is winning all across the board! Although, Janet is bringing us new music this year, we wonder if this will effect how Janet’s album sounds as well as what she wears and does during her performances!! Guess no more free lap dances and half naked concerts shows will be in the cards for the newly married Janet….that is unless she and the hubby are some sort of new age Muslims!
As for celeb billionaires….there ain’t that many! So kudos to Mrs. Jackson she joins the billionaire club with members including Oprah, Madonna, George Lucas, Steven Spielberg, J.K. Rowling, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus, whose main fortune came from her dad, billionaire Gerard Louis-Dreyfus, chairman of the Louis Dreyfus Energy Services.
At least Janet can feel good about the fact she earned her billion all by herself.
