This year Beyonce has already sold out her new world tour, given one of the best super bowl half-time performances, broke HBO viewership records….need I continue?? And now she can add a MAJOR PUBLISHING Deal with Warner/Chappell Music to the list!
Billboard has learned this exclusively and reports that it is effective IMMEDIATELY, Warner/Chappell — headed by chairman/CEO Cameron Strang — will administer the 17-time Grammy winner’s future songwriting, including her anticipated next album.
It was somewhat expected for Beyonce to sign with Warner being that hubby Jay-Z finalized a major global publishing deal with publishing giants Warner/Chappell just a week before… Are ya wondering why Jay and B had the sudden change of heart to leave EMI? Well, Platt was responsible for signing Beyonce and Jay-Z during his tenure as president of North America creative for EMI Music Publishing and build quite a rapport with the superstar couple. Now that he has now joined Warner/Chappell this past September as president of creative, North America it looks like the talent wants to follow him over to Warner/Chappell! See what Beyonce had to say below:
