My favorite voice from the group 702, Meelah is back!
Its been over a decade since we’ve heard new music from Meelah but a lot has happened since we’ve heard from her. In an interview with allhiphop.com the singer revealed that over the 10 years she remained in the music industry working behind the scenes with other artists, writing and recording background vocals. Also, just 3 years ago she took a break to have a child with boyfriend of 3 years, Musiq Soulchild.
Now the new mommy is ready to get back out in the forefront where she belongs. Meelah is currently in the studio recording tracks for her first solo debut album. In hopes to drum up buzz for the album, this week Meelah released 2 promotional tracks produced by baby daddy Musiq Soulchild and Love and Hip Hop Atlanta reality star, Stevie J.
Below is ‘I Should Let you Go’ the track produced by Stevie J that coincidentally focuses on a woman who is torn between keeping her man and letting him go. While I’m not too fond of Stevie J’s character on the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta reality series, his role as a producer I can dig! Check out the r&b banger below:
The next track is ‘Your Love’ produced by Musiq Soulchild which talks about falling in love. Now I love Musiq Soulchild as an artist and producer but this track is very Pop, far from his or her sound. Not sure if this was just an experiment but lets hope she sticks to her true r&b roots. The industry is already convoluted with enough r&b artists singing pop music that sounds all the same!
Check out the track below and let us know your favorite!
