The countdown has officially begun!
The 2012 Billboard Music Awards is set to air live at 8pm ET on May 20 via ABC. Leading the pack of nominees for the 2012 BMA’s this year is none other than Adele, who is up for 18 nods!
Pop superstar, Rihanna is a finalist in 13 categories this year, after leading the pack with 18 category appearances in 2011. Lady Gaga and Lil Wayne each tied at 10 categories, and will both compete against Adele, Rihanna and Katy Perry for the prestigious Top Artist prize.
An Updated list of performers has been released but is not limited to: Usher, Kelly Clarkson and Nelly Furtado, Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, The Wanted and LMFAO at the Billboard Music Awards. This year the show will be hosted by Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell, the event will also feature a showing by Cee Lo Green.
Additional performers will be announced within the coming weeks.
