Little 6 year old Etan Patz went missing approximately 33 years ago today.
His mysterious disappearance baffled everyone who heard about it. He had begged his mom to let him walk down the block to catch the school bus alone in the Soho area of Manhattan. Little Etan lived right on Prince Street and his mom could watch him from the window.
On that fatal day back in 1979 Etan was approached by Pedro Hernandez, confessed killer, who told him he would buy him a soda. Etan went into the grocery store with him where he worked and the man claims he led him into the basement of the supermarket and choked and killed the little boy. He says that he discarded his body in bags and put it in the trash. Pedro Hernandez was just 19 when he committed this heinous crime.
Pedro Hernandez had told certain family members about the murder, and it was a family member who called this crime in. Police are investigating but in the meantime they picked him up from his home in Maple Shade, New Jersey. Neighbors said he kept to himself, kept the shades closed in the house and avoided all neighbors. He has a wife and teenage daughter.
Police said that after his confession Pedro Hernandez seemed to be relieved….
Poor Little Etan Patz…….R.I.P.
