Yep! You heard right, new artist Rita Ora is up for a Billboard nomination. No her first album isn’t out yet, No she doesn’t have a #1 single in the U.S. yet but guess what, she is Jay-Z’s newest protege.
She comes from West London to become Jay Z’s biggest act since Rihanna. Believe it or not, she’s been shelved for 5 years to be exact but with this notion, it has undoubtedly been worth her wait.
To date, Rita has scored 2 UK #1 singles and she’s now landed a nomination at the 2012 Billboard Music Awards.
Rita is nominated for the ‘Most Influential Style’ award. She’ll go up against some of the biggest names in Hollywood: Rihanna and Beyonce.
As if that wasn’t enough, she is also nominated for the ‘New Style Icon Of 2012’ award, in which fellow newbies Azealia Banks and One Direction are in the running.
