What do you get when American Idol wants Mariah Carey, one of the best female recording artists of all time to judge?
A one year salary for $18 MILLION, making her also one of the best-paid reality tv judges of all time……besides Simon Cowell of course!

Mariah’s deal is rumored to be almost $18 Milli for one year with an option to leave the show and never come back if she pleases…but from the sound of her excitement, Mariah might be back for another season with the ball in her court to request an even higher pay grade. Who do we attribute the negotiations to?? ?Randy Jackson, Mariah or hubby Nick Cannon? Either way, Randy Jackson is winning, as her manager I’m pretty sure he will get his regular salary from Idol as well as a percentage of Mariah’s $18,000,000.
“It’s gonna be so much fun working on @AmericanIdol,” Mariah tweeted Monday when the ‘Idol’ job was made official. “As a singer-songwriter, I’m excited to help find and nurture new talent.” Awww, I’m so glad to hear she’s in amazement over her $18 Million deal telling people, on camera, their voices suck!
Congratulations Mi Mi! I look forward to seeing the chemistry between you and Manger/Idol Judge Randy and I definitely hope these american idol contestants don’t exhaust your ears and run you away.
