Comedian Joan Rivers dies at the age of 81, only a week after vocal cord surgery left her in a coma and on life support.
Joan’s daughter, Melissa Rivers announced the sad news today, saying the legendary comedian passed away at 1:17pm surrounded by her family.
The New York Department of Health is said to have launched an investigation into the clinic where Rivers’ ill-fated procedure was performed. story developing
Funeral for Rivers will take place Sunday at Temple Emanu-El.
