– 1k Watts, from Bakersfield, California.
How did you break into the music industry?
– With hard work, I had to keep perfecting my style until people started taking my music seriously.
Choose one adjective to describe your music style?
– Blunt rolling music, it’s got that feel, something you can vibe to.
Your rhyming ability is amazing, how did you learn to rap?– I started writing rhymes when I was about 12, just writing little flows.. but I started recording around freshman year and that’s when I really started learning how to rhyme and flow.
Who is your ultimate inspiration?
– My mom, she’s a strong woman, without her, I wouldn’t be where I am right now.
Do you write your own songs? If so, what are your songs about and where do you draw your inspiration?
– Yeah, I’ve written every song I’ve recorded. Usually, I get my inspiration from my every day habits. Which 90% of the time, is kickin it with homies, smokin bud, laughing and having a good time.
What project are you currently promoting and is it available for purchase?
– As of right now, I’m really pushing my recently released mixtape, Backpack Full of Blunts, which can be found on Soundcloud.
Are you looking for an independent label deal or a major label deal?
– I’d love to be picked up by an independent label who can really invest and put time in with a young artist, helping mold my art for future years.
How would you define the word “success”?
– Happiness. Success shouldn’t be judged by how much money someone has, it should be valued by how happy someone is with their life.
What is your biggest career embarrassment?
– Freestyle battling in front of the whole school sophomore year and choking on my words.. Happened a few times haha..
Most memorable moment in creating one of your records?
– I remember recording at this sketchy studio, 3 floors underground. After the session, the homies and I went searching up and down the 10 stories of this building, scared out of minds because the building looked like a abandoned hospital and smelt like death.
Who has been the most influential person in your music career?
– My boy Marcus, I was going to stop making music a couple years ago but one day he hit me up on facebook and said he’ll help if i keep making music. He really helped keep me focused on achieving my dreams for that moment in time..
Who is your celeb look-alike?
– I don’t know, as of now I don’t think I have one.
what was your first job?
– I’ve never had a job, I’ve always told myself music was my job.
What is your worst Fear?
– Munchies
What is your guilty pleasure?
– Getting stoned and eating a grip of loaded potato grillers from Taco Bell.
What artists would you love to work with?
– If I had to pick 3 living artists, I’d pick Wiz Khalifa, Mac Miller, and Kid Cudi.
Any advice or lessons learned in the music industry that you would like to share with other indie artists?
– Don’t waste your time caring about opinions. Make music that you love.
What is the number one thing you hope people get out of your music?
– A good smoke sesh, put Backpack Full of Blunts on replay, roll a couple blunts, and enjoy life!
