Tragedy happened on the boardwalk of the infamous Venice Beach this past Saturday……
If you’ve ever had the chance to visit the Venice Beach Boardwalk in Cali, then you very well know its one of our premiere hot spots. Known for its fun atmosphere full of the best entertainment, restaurants, shops and ocean views, the Venice Beach boardwalk is ALWAYS packed full of pedestrians and tourists!
Unfortunately, a man named Nathan Louis Campbell, 38, shifted the atmosphere from fun to tragic on Saturday. Nathan was driving his car near Venice beach when he got the crazy idea to drive onto the Venice Beach boardwalk slamming into a group of pedestrians, injuring 11 and killing one woman on her honeymoon!
Alice Gruppioni, 32, of Italy, died in the hospital following the accident, the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office confirmed. 8 of the 11 pedestrians suffered minor injuries, one person remained in critical condition today ad the other two people were in serious condition, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Initially Nathan fled the scene after the incident but 2 hours later turned himself into the LAPD and he was booked for the investigation of murder and is being held on $1 million bail, according to KABC-TV.
Its pretty obvious the man intentionally drove into the crowds but what we don’t know is WHY he did it. No matter what, there is NO EXCUSE for his actions! God bless the victims and their families who endured this tragedy.
