In Chad Johnson’s world, life itself is a football game…..
That’s exactly why he’s in this current crappy situation today! Chad Johnson was just kicked out of a Florida courtroom after the former NFL star jokingly SLAPPED his lawyer’s butt …who is a male I might add… and he had the entire court room in laughs but it TICKED OFF the wrong person….The JUDGE!
All was going EXTREMELY WELL in the courtroom as Johnson faced the judge for his recent probation violation in his domestic violence case. A plea bargain had been reached ….all Johnson would have had to do was serve a longer probation period, extending it to December 21, and perform 25 hours of community service….but his excitement got the best of him!
“You better thank your lawyer. He did a great job for you,” Broward Circuit Court Judge Kathleen McHugh told Johnson after accepting the agreement.
Johnson responded by slapping his attorney Adam Swickle on the behind…Chad smiled … the court erupted with laughter …. but the judge didn’t have a sense of humor lost her patience.
The judge found the move disrespectful — and lashed out at Johnson … asking him if the whole proceeding was a “joke” to him.
Johnson replied, “I had no intent to make this a joke, because my life is in shambles right now.”
Then the judge suddenly announced that Chad’s deal was OFF … and kicked him out of the courtroom, sentencing him to 30 days in Jail!
This has sparked a lot of controversy as the immature some argue, it was just a natural reaction for him, he’s just an athlete and it’s what all athletes do to each other while others say he deserved it because he needs to maintain professionalism in the courtroom.
