Mariah Carey is the latest celebrity to join OPI to create signature nail polish shades.
In a statement announcing the collaboration, OPI’s Executive VP & Artistic Director called Mariah “an industry icon who loves nails and considers lacquer one of her favorite accessories”.
Mariah reveals she has always had an interest in beauty and enrolled in beauty college as a back up plan to singing.
“I actually went to beauty school in 11th grade so I could have something to fall back on, so believe me, I’ve done my share of manicures as well as getting them,” Mariah said. “OPI knows that the polish you use makes a big difference not only in the look, but in the care of your nails and that’s why I believe in the brand.”
Mariah Carey is the first celebrity to launch not one but two exclusive collections with OPI, the first collection of eight shades will debut in January 2013 and the second collection later in the year.
Other celebs who have worked with OPI on one collection include Nicki Minaj, the Kardashians, Katy Perry and Serena Williams.
